In line with the Department for Education’s proposed changes to the School Admissions Code, we are currently consulting with parents and other interested parties regarding proposed changes to Wateringbury Church of England (VA) Primary School admission arrangements for entry to the school in September 2020.
Currently, our first priority in case of over-subscription is: ‘Children in Local Authority Care/Looked After Children/Previously Looked After Children’. This has been understood to be children in care or previously in care within England.
The following addition is being proposed as our second priority in case of over-subscription:
Children Previously in Care Outside of England. This applies to children who appear to The Governing Body to have been in state care outside of England and ceased to be in state care as a result of being adopted. A child is regarded as having been in state care in a place outside of England if they were accommodated by a public authority, a religious organisation or any other provider of care whose sole purpose is to benefit society.
The formal consultation will be open for 6 weeks between 23rd November 2018 and 4th January 2019. The proposed Admissions Policy in full is available here.
Paper copies are available from the school upon request.
If you would like to comment on the consultation, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line marked Wateringbury Admissions Consultation. Responses should be received by 4th January 2019.
Alternatively you can write to Sara Wallis, Clerk to the Governing Body at the following address:
