Our Learning

Wateringbury CEP School has six classes. We currently have separate year groups in Key Stage One (infants) with mixed year groups in Key Stage Two (juniors). This structure is flexible and changes on the sizes of cohorts. Our infant classes each have up to 30 children and the junior classes have up to 32 children. We currently have one class of Years 3 and 4; another of Years 4 and 5; and a separate class of Year 6.

The curriculum is all the planned activities that we organise in order to promote learning, personal growth and development in preparation for life in modern Britain. It includes not only the formal requirements of the National Curriculum, but also any other activity organised by school, for example, extracurricular activities and any other activities designed to enrich the experience of the children. There is also a ‘hidden’ element to the curriculum which includes what the children learn from their school environment, the way they are treated and how they are expected to behave.

These pages contain information about what the children learn in their year groups across the different subjects and how they are supported, as well as some data from statutory assessments.

We teach our children how to learn by looking at our learning behaviours which are linked to our Christian values. These are taught discretely in class as well as in whole school assemblies.
